What is Meditation?

Here is a definition according to the Dictionary:

Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualisation, the breath, movement or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation and enhance personal and spiritual growth.

We live in very fast paced times. Work and home stress can get the better of us sometimes. Meditation is one of the most powerful tools for dealing with stress.

Have you ever said this to yourself, “I tried meditation but it didn’t work for me”? Have you found yourself giving up meditating because it was too difficult? What if it was not as difficult as you thought it was? You know the amazing benefits of Meditation but not sure how to do it or where to start?

Meditation is something ‘you do’ and not the other way round. Unlike anything, you need to work at it for it to work. It sounds complicated? It is not really. Mediation is a form of discipline and only by practicing regularly, you will realise how easy it is to achieve a meditative state of mind. And all you need to do is to practice it regularly.

Our mind is made up of into 3 components:

Unconcious 96%
Concious 4%
Superconcious 0%

Our unconscious mind is the one that does all the chattering. It is no wonder why we find it so difficult to stop the chatter in our mind. You’re not the only one! This chatter is like a small child that will not leave you alone. What we resist persists! Meditation will give you the tools to turn this chattering off and you will learn how to cope with day to day challenges with calmness and a smile on your face.

The good news is that Meditation is achievable. It takes a little discipline of keeping up with your regular practice.

Your super conscious mind has the key to perfect health, purpose and well-being. Learn how to reach into your super conscious mind through meditation. You will be pleasantly surprised how easy it is!

Being in the group is all about being with like mind people. You can expect to practice Meditation with the group. If you wish, stay back for a cuppa and share your thoughts and experience of your Meditation.

What do I wear and bring?

Wear loose comfortable clothing as we will be sitting on the floor. Please do let me know if you need a chair or have back issues. If you get cold feet, bring your sox as we remove our shoes for the meditation room.

I am feeling awkward!

It is normal to feel that way. The good news is that we have all started the same way.

What if I fall asleep during meditation?

It can be a natural response specially, if you are over tired. You are not alone! Getting a full night’s sleep will help. If you find it difficult to sleep, perhaps you can listen to some relaxation music or guided meditation.

I look forward to welcoming you to my Meditation class.

I wish you all the peace, health and joy.
