What is Meditation?
Here is a definition according to the Dictionary:
Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualisation, the breath, movement or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation and enhance personal and spiritual growth.
We live in very fast paced times. Work and home stress can get the better of us sometimes. Meditation is one of the most powerful tools for dealing with stress.
Have you ever said this to yourself, “I tried meditation but it didn’t work for me”? Have you found yourself giving up meditating because it was too difficult? What if it was not as difficult as you thought it was? You know the amazing benefits of Meditation but not sure how to do it or where to start?
Meditation is something ‘you do’ and not the other way round. Unlike anything, you need to work at it for it to work. It sounds complicated? It is not really. This chatter is like a small child that will not leave you alone. What we resist persists! Meditation will give you the tools to turn this chattering off and you will learn how to cope with day to day challenges with calmness and a smile on your face.
The good news is that Meditation is achievable. It takes a little discipline of keeping up with your regular practice.
