Many people suffer from blocked ears, constantly ringing ears or glue ear. Many of our children complain of swimmers ear, leading to headaches, feeling like there is water trapped. The solution can be as simple as an Ear Candling treatment.

Ear candling is also known as ‘Thermotherapy’. Ear candling has been a folk remedy across many cultures. It is known the Chinese, Tibetan, Egyptian, Mayan, Aztec and several North American Indian cultures have performed Ear candling ceremonies.

Ear candling does not remove ear wax as commonly believed, so if you are looking for some dramatic results, you will be disappointed. Ear candling does however with regular treatment and use of a good oil in your ear will release hardened wax over period.

Ear candling help alleviate a lot of symptoms such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Blocked ears caused by jetlag
  • Depression
  • Glue ear
  • Hearing problem
  • Head congestion
  • Insomnia
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Sinus related problems
  • Sleep apnoea
  • Tinnitus
  • Hay fever and other allergies
  • Sore throat
  • Swimmers ear
  • Snoring
  • Vertigo

The basic technique involves the use of a hollow candle, which looks like a thick straw. The candle is saturated in 100 per cent Bees wax and contains a blend of herbs which release a gentle vapour when the candle is lit to soothe and calm the ear and this is a very relaxing experience for my clients.

The candle is lit at one end and the other end is gently placed at the very opening of the ear, the flame at the top of candle creates a vacuum, which gently encourages the alleviate pressure in ear canal.

The ear candle technique is ideal for loosening decayed and polluted wax which can have insects, Candida (yeast infection) or a fungal infection lodged inside the auditory canal.

Children are especially susceptible to ear infections as their Auditory Canals are narrower than adults. Ear Candling is extremely relaxing and toddlers often look forward to a treatment as it gives them instant relief from the symptoms of congestion, earache and discomfort that accompany teething, colds and flu.

Adults are amazed at the tremendous relief and comfort ear candling can give with only one treatment. Ear Candling is also recommended in giving relief from built up pressure after flying or driving.

After treatment a soothing scalp and facial massage is applied to release mucus and congestion. It is pain free and risk free and worth a try, you will be amazed at the results.

I use only the best quality oils and ear candles. The combination of the traditional Ear Candling and traditional Indian Head Massage is an ultimate experience.
